Most of this work is invisible when it goes right. An update is installed and the site is checked after it, a backup runs every night, and a monitor watches that the site answers. On the day something does go wrong, putting it right is already someone’s job.
You do not need a plan to run your site. With the guide we write for it, you change the content yourself, and the rest waits until something needs doing. A plan is for when you would rather it was our job every month.
What every plan covers
Every plan includes:
- hosting on our Canadian server, with SSL and business email at your domain
- WordPress, theme and plugin updates, with the site checked after each one
- security monitoring: a firewall, malware scans and a protected login
- a backup every day, and a restore whenever you need one
- uptime monitoring around the clock, so we hear when the site stops answering
- fixes when something breaks, including a change made by mistake in the editor
- up to two hours of content changes a month: new text, photos, products, a page from your material
- and the small questions that come up in between
The domain is the one thing outside the plan. It renews at cost, in your name.
Two hours a month keeps most small sites current: a new service, a few photos, a price list, the holiday hours. What does not fit in them is billed by the hour, below.
Which plan fits your site
The plan follows the site, not a choice of features. A Lite or Standard site, up to twenty pages without a store, is the first card.
A Business site, larger or with an online store, is the second. A store has more to update and more to lose when an update goes wrong, so after every update we place a test order before we call it done.
A Pro site is the third. Its integrations are checked after every update, because a booking or an order that stops reaching your system is a problem nobody sees on the page.
If someone else built your site on WordPress, we look at it first, for free. We tell you whether we can take it on, which plan fits and what moving it to our server involves. If it needs repairs first, you get a quote before any work starts. We maintain WordPress sites only, and if yours runs on something else, we say so rather than learn it on your site.
Work outside the plan
Anything the plan does not cover is $95 an hour: a change to the design, a new function, content past the two hours. We estimate the hours before we start, so the number is agreed, not discovered.
Hours not used in a month do not carry over to the next one. The same rate applies if you have no plan and something needs doing.
No contract
A plan runs month to month, and you can stop at the end of any month. The site stays yours either way: you keep full admin access, and hosting continues at $290 a year, or we hand you a full backup to move the site wherever you like.
Not sure your site needs a plan? Ask before you take it. The consultation is free, and if the guide and a yearly hosting bill are all your site needs, we tell you so. We reply within one business day.
