The question we hear most before handover is whether you will manage on your own. For what the guide covers, you need the same computer skills as for email and a word processor.
The guide covers content: text, photos, products. Design, code and security stay with us. That line is worth knowing before you need your first change.
You get the login details at the end of the job. The site is yours even when we do not maintain it.
What you change yourself
With the guide, you can, among other things:
- change the text on any page and add new pages
- change photos and build new galleries
- change products and add new ones, if you have a store
- change the items in the menu
- update your contact details and your hours
- add videos from YouTube
- and the rest of the content the guide covers, written for your site
The login you get gives full admin access. Without a maintenance plan, we do not see what changes on the site, so putting right something that went wrong is a separate job.
Where the line is
The guide covers the content, not the system. It does not cover:
- changes to the design
- changes to the code
- updating WordPress and its plugins, or installing new ones
- changes to the system settings
- moving the site to another server
- and the rest of the technical and security upkeep

Website maintenance
It is not required. But WordPress and its plugins get security updates, and a site that does not get them eventually has a problem, usually at a moment when you have no time for it.
Maintenance covers the updates, security monitoring, daily backups and restores, uptime monitoring and fixes, with hosting included and up to two hours of content changes a month. The plans, their prices and the rate for work outside them are on Website maintenance.
